Ready to breed!

A beautiful, dense, very light fawn, full Bolivian "Bolivian Thunder" Granddaughter

Our Ranch is for sale,  but only as a "working alpaca ranch" with animals on board - we are trying very hard to downsize to about 10-15 alpacas, versus the 60 we currently are taking care of.  Our ranch is beautiful, with almost   25 acres of trees and meadows and plenty    of room for expansion   of fenced areas for a    "fiber herd"

Proud owners of this fine breeding ranch, Aase and Duane Frederick have been breeding and selling "fine homegrown alpacas" since 2000.  Starting off their alpaca adventure in Creston, a tiny town in the Central Coast area of California, we decided to move to Yreka in 2003, mainly to get away from the high heat Summers of the Paso Robles Wine Country!  We were so blessed and lucky to have found this little gem of a ranch, situated on 25 acres of pasture and oak trees, just outside the city limits of Yreka, which is located in Siskiyou County (in Northern California).  Our ranch is located just off Hwy I-5  -  half-way between Mount Shasta in California and Ashland in Southern Oregon.

We love our ranch, but realize that it is time for someone else to take this on - if you are already an alpaca owner and want to find a nicer or larger ranch to grow on, this is perfect for you.  We live on 25 acres and only use about 5 acres for the animals and outbuildings, so there is room for expansion, lots of it!

Amber Joy 2008

Located in one of the most scenic areas in all of California and almost in the shadow of majestic MT Shasta, the climate and altitude (about 2600 ft) is ideal for alpaca farming - not too hot in the Summer and not too cold in the Winter.  Close to wonderful camping and fishing locations - think Klamath River!  All in all it is a wonderful place to live the "small town" life we love so much now and yet, we are only 40 miles away from the culture and ambience of famous Ashland in Oregon and, if you head  South, you are in the Mt Shasta ski area.

We currently own around 50 alpacas here at EBA Oaks, ages run from 18 months to 15 years.  A few more lovely animals, boys and girls, are also for sale (boarding here, apparently free of charge, since we have not been paid boarding fees for the past 3 years!)

We would love to sell this beautiful ranch, with the animals on board, but realize that may not work out, especially with our current 60 animals.  So, the herd is for sale at "liquidation" prices!  Some will be placed in good homes at no charge, just a good home for them to enjoy their last years, others will be sold at much less than they are actually worth.  Group sales will get extra discounts for however many are in the group.

Our alpacas have the color and the genetics everyone is looking for:

  • Peruvian Hemingway

  • Snowmass Highlander

  • MFI Dom Timbo

  • MFI Kaluah

  • Patagonia's Whidbey

  • Peruvian Bueno

Hemingway Tennessee's Amber Joy is all grown up now and ready to breed!

  Newborn 2007

Tennessee's Amber Joy was a very cute baby girl, who is now 4 years old and more than ready to breed! Her Grand-sire is Peruvian Hemingway's son Tennessee and her mom is a lovely Mahogany Brown Chilean lady.  Amber Joy is a deep true brown with black points.  A gorgeous Chilean/Peruvian mix, she is proof of Hemingway Tennessee's ability (as a National Champion Herdsire) to pass on his amazing brightness. Amber Joy is offered at $2,500 as a maiden, we guarantee her ability to breed or your money back! We can breed her to one of our herdsires if you wish, or choose your own Peruvian Herdsire - Chilean or Bolivian girls do great when bred to Peruvian males, every time!
